Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic Provides Election Related Information for the 2024 Primary Election

Melbourne, FL – July 18, 2024 – The 2024 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 20th. The deadline to register to vote in this election, also known as book closing, is July 22nd. Voters can visit any of the four administrative offices or go to VoteBrevard.gov to register to vote or update their voter registration.

“The motto for the 2024 elections is to Be Election Ready. As I meet with voters, I encourage them to verify their voter record is accurate, update their signature, and know where their precinct specific polling location is if they choose to vote on Election Day,” said Tim Bobanic, Brevard County Supervisor of Elections. “For those who vote by mail, it is important to know if there is a current request on file to receive a ballot in the mail. Requests expired after the 2022 General Election and my office has been working to ensure all voters who choose to vote by mail, have a current request on file.”

Voters not already on the mail ballot request list have until 5:00 p.m. on August 8th to request a mail ballot be sent to them prior to the August 20th election. Current requests are valid for one general election cycle and if requested now are good through Dec. 31, 2024. Requests can be made at VoteBrevard.gov, by calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or at any of the four administrative offices. Military and overseas mail ballots were sent out on July 5th and the domestic mail ballots are being sent on July 18th.

For voters wishing to return their voted mail ballots, secure ballot intake stations are available in the lobby of all four administrative offices or at any of the 10 Early Voting locations during hours of operation. Please check VoteBrevard.gov for hours of availability. Mail ballots must be received in the Supervisor of Elections Offices by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Early Voting for the August 20th Primary Election will be conducted from Saturday, August 10th through Saturday, August 17th at 10 locations throughout Brevard. As a reminder, voters may cast their ballot at any Early Voting site. For locations and hours of operation, select the “Early Voting” tab at the top of the page on the VoteBrevard.gov website. Voters should be aware some locations have changed.

“Brevard takes election integrity seriously and has dedicated a page on VoteBrevard.gov to detail the efforts taken to ensure the electoral process is secure and transparent,” said Supervisor Bobanic. “In a busy election year like this, I want to stress to voters that my office is the trusted source for election related information. We encourage all voters to verify information they’ve seen or heard by visiting VoteBrevard.gov, calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or following my verified Facebook and X accounts.”

The Logic & Accuracy Test of the election equipment, conducted per F.S. 101.5612(2), is scheduled for July 30th at the Election Support Center, located at 525 N. John Rodes Blvd. in Melbourne, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
