Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic Provides Election Related Information for the 2024 General Election

Melbourne, FL – October 3, 2024 – The 2024 General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5th. The deadline to register to vote in this election, also known as book closing, is October 7th. To register to vote or update voter registration records, voters can visit any of the four administrative offices or go to VoteBrevard.gov.

“Florida strives to accommodate voters’ busy lives by having three convenient ways to vote – Vote-by-Mail, Early Voting, and Election Day. To help voters Be Election Ready for the General Election and know which method of voting is best for them, I encourage them to visit VoteBrevard.gov or contact one of our 4 administrative offices,” said Supervisor of Elections Tim Bobanic. “My office is the trusted source for election related information and all voters are encouraged to verify information they’ve seen or heard by visiting VoteBrevard.gov, calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or following my verified Facebook and X accounts.”

Voters choosing to vote by mail have until 5:00 p.m. on October 24th to request a mail ballot be sent to them prior to the November 5th election. Current requests are valid for one general election cycle and are good through Dec. 31, 2024. Requests can be made at VoteBrevard.gov, by calling 321-290-VOTE (8683), or in-person at any of the four administrative offices. Military and overseas mail ballots were sent out on September 20th and domestic mail ballots are being sent on October 3rd.

For voters wishing to return their voted mail ballots in person instead of via the USPS, secure ballot intake stations are available in the lobby of all four administrative offices or at any of the 10 Early Voting locations during hours of operation. Please check VoteBrevard.gov for hours of availability. Mail ballots must be received in the Supervisor of Elections Offices by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Early Voting for the November 5th General Election will be conducted from Monday, October 21st  – Saturday, November 2nd at 10 locations throughout Brevard. As a reminder, voters may cast their ballot at any Early Voting site. For locations, hours of operation, or wait times, select the “Early Voting” tab at the top of the page on the VoteBrevard.gov website.

For those who choose to vote on Election Day they need to remember to vote in their precinct specific polling location, which may have changed since they last voted. Assigned precincts can be found on VoteBrevard.gov with the “Find Your Precinct” tab, on a voter information card, or on the sample ballot mailed to each registered voter. Polls on Election Day are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All eligible voters in line at their polling place at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote, regardless of the length of the line.

“Election integrity has always been a priority of this office and I encourage voters to come to one of the public meetings to see first-hand that we are committed to protecting the integrity of ballots cast by Brevard County voters,” said Supervisor Bobanic. “If voters have additional questions about election integrity, they can visit VoteBrevard.gov to see everything we do to conduct fair and transparent elections.”

The Logic & Accuracy Test of the election equipment, conducted per F.S. 101.5612(2), is scheduled for October 8th at the Election Support Center, located at 525 N. John Rodes Blvd. in Melbourne, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
