2026 Candidate Qualifying Information

Note: The 2026 General Election Cycle is in a year of apportionment and affects the qualifying dates for only U.S. Representatives.

Any congressional candidate in Florida seeking ballot placement for the 2026 election who seeks to qualify by the petition process may obtain signatures “from any registered voter in Florida regardless of party affiliation or district boundaries.” Moreover, such a candidate will need to collect 2,564 signatures. Finally, the qualifying dates for congressional candidates shall be from noon on June 8, 2026, to noon on June 12, 2026. This change ONLY applies to petitions being collected by congressional candidates. All other candidates must still collect petitions from their district, and the quantities have not changed.

Candidates have the option of qualifying by meeting the petition signature requirement or paying the qualifying fee during the qualifying period.

Qualifying fees are computed by the monthly salaries as of July 1 preceding the first day of qualifying (F.S. 105.031).
